Uttar Pradesh: Two held for ‘attack’ on Dalit food delivery executive

The shipping government, Vineet Kumar Rawat, had alleged that the customer Ajay Singh (40) had refused to acquire the food items from his fingers right after coming to know that he belonged to the Dalit neighborhood and also created casteist remarks in opposition to him, police claimed. He alongside with many others present in his property at that time had reportedly thrashed him, they added.

The incident occurred on Saturday night when Rawat had long gone to supply the order in Aashiana region. Rawat is utilized by foodstuff aggregator Zomato.

“Police have invoked portion 151 of CrPC towards Ajay and his servant Vivek Shukla (25),” ACP (Cantonment) Dr Archana Singh stated. Ajay was named along with 13 other folks in the FIR submitted by Rawat on Saturday. Aside from Ajay, the FIR was lodged versus 1 Abhay Singh and 12 other unknown individuals. The accused were booked below IPC portion 147 (rioting), 323 (voluntarily causing harm) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and the SC/ST Act.

Law enforcement claimed the two had been arrested following Rawat’s professional medical examination report confirmed that he was assaulted.
